| Here's a guaranteed way to get THEM to hang up so YOU don't have to! |
| Before they start their pitch, interrupt them and tell them how glad you are that they called, because you're doing a survey on telemarketers, and you want to ask them a few questions. When they hesitate (and they will!), tell them it'll just take about 5 or 10 minutes of their time, and when you're done, you'll be HAPPY to discuss their product! |
| If they agree, start asking away the following questions! |
| 1 | What is your name? |
| 2 | How old are you? |
| 3 | How long have you been a telemarketer? |
| 4 | Did you go to college? |
| 5 | IF YES > > > Which college? |
| 6 | Did you do well there (upper half of class)? |
| 7 | What would be the perfect job for you? |
| 8 | What is your favorite color? |
| 9 | Have you ever bought anything from a telemarketer? |
| 10 | IF YES > > > Were you satisfied with the purchase? |
| 11 | For statistical purposes, what is your mother's maiden name? |
| 12 | What is your social security number? |
| 13 | May we call you again if we need more information? |
| 14 | What is your home telephone number? |
If they've answered ALL of the above questions, either come up with more (personal?) questions, and keep at 'em, or maybe they've earned that sale!
